The best events in Chicago week of April 5
Chicago is going to be full of events if you’re looking for something to occupy your time.
If you get a few minutes after your plans, be sure to check your roof. After this crazy weather, this weekend will be a good time to get your roof inspected. Call Neighborhood Restoration Company for a free inspection and estimate.
➊ Art isn’t art if it doesn’t keep birthing new. Why shouldn’t art shows act the same? A new event this year, the Chicago Art & Design Show brings 100 artists to Navy Pier for a juried show exhibiting almost every medium, including media, as the phenomenal photojournalist Val Mazzenga receives a lifetime-achievement award and gives a talk. And speaking of new art, this weekend also sees the School of the Art Institute’s spring art sale, a show of more than 120 student-artists, and an opportunity for those who trust their taste to pick future art stars before they go red giant. April 8-9. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free. Festival Hall A, Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave.
